Established in 1972 and driven by a mission to find innovative solutions to the staffing needs of a diverse base of clients, The Workforce Group has grown to become one of the most versatile providers of human resource solutions in South Africa.
2.0 National Operating Infrastructure
Workforce boasts an extensive national branch infrastructure that extends to major centres in all the provinces in the country (our footprint currently extends to 68 strategically located branches). By nature of our business, this branch infrastructure is continually expanding as it provides the platform from which specialist business divisions respond to the service requirements of clients operating throughout the country.

To this end, The Group’s specialist business divisions play a vital role as they each have the expertise and flexibility to meet the specific needs of each client.
The seamless integration of the services offered by each specialist division, plays a vital role in enabling the delivery of the total solution. Each division has a specialised recruitment or HR management focus and networking between these divisions plays an important role in the Group’s service philosophy as they are geared to work together as one company in delivering a total solution.

4.1 Staff Outsourcing Service Providers
Workforce Staffing
Staff outsourcing accounts for the largest portion of the Group’s turnover. As more and more companies turn to staff outsourcing to control manpower costs and gain tailored flexible solutions to the management of their manpower requirements, Workforce has positioned itself as a leading service provider in this field.
Workforce operates contracts on a national basis, serving a broad-base of industry sectors. It has about 24 000 outsourced staff in the field each day covering all categories and levels. There are over 80 strategically located Workforce branches throughout the country with operations that run 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, throughout the year. Where necessary, satellite branches are opened to service outlying areas.
Workforce Retail
Retailers and wholesalers have very specialised requirements. To efficiently serve this industry, we operate a specialist Retail division, staffed by highly qualified and experienced individuals with hands-on industry knowledge. Workforce Retail is a registered member and active participant in the national CGC (Consumer Goods Council) – Crime Prevention Programme and ensures that all staff provided to retailers and wholesalers are registered on this database. Services offered by this division include: Recruitment and staff outsourcing solutions; contingency staffing (temps and casuals); Merchandisers; Stock taking services; Strike and industrial action staffing solutions

This division specialises in providing highly trained staff to the hospitality, leisure and catering industries. Phaphama Staffing
Phaphama Staffing operates as a generalist staffing solutions provider on a national basis. The company is a Black Empowerment company in which Pha Phama Africa Employee Empowerment Trust and Workforce Group Holdings (Pty) Limited each own 50% of the issued share capital.
4.2 Recruitment & Professional Staffing
Workforce Worldwide Staffing
Workforce Worldwide Staffing is the global staffing division of the Group. In addition to operating an office in the UK, we are members of the NPA (Worldwide Recruiting Network). This means we have an extensive international skills search and placement capability.
Fempower Personnel
Fempower provides a range of recruitment solutions targeting white-collar professional staff. Fempower’s service portfolio includes, permanent placements, temporary staffing, ad-response handing, executive search, outsourcing and call centre solutions.
4.3 Specialist HR Support Service Providers
Workforce Healthcare
This division specialises in employee health management and offers comprehensive primary and occupational health management solutions. Employers need to provide occupational healthcare to their employees to prevent the risk of liability and avoid the implications of non-compliance to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Workforce Healthcare’s Occupational and Primary Health Management programme has been structured in such a way that clients can select only the elements they need. In this way, employers benefit from access to fully equipped occupational healthcare clinics; mobile clinics for medical screening; guidance, training and management of HIV/AIDS at the work site while their employees gain access to affordable quality healthcare services.
Workforce Payrolling
The Workforce Payrolling Division is able to provide a complete payroll outsourcing service that covers the full spectrum of both wage and salaries payroll requirements. Clients are able to select the extent of services they require. The complete solution or individual services such as the processing salaries and wages, processing of selected reports, printing of cheques, direct deposits, payment of statutory levies and taxes as well as the payment of third party vendors such as provident fund and medical aid administrators.
Workforce Superdata
The Workforce Superdata Division is responsible for providing automated data collection and time and attendance solutions to various specialist business divisions of The Group and their clients. The products provided include standard clocking and biometrics terminals accompanied by "Time-Zone" software. Together, these record, process data and generate a number of reports that can be used for analysis and cross-checking by management. Time-recorded data can also be exported directly into a client’s wage system, eliminating the need for capturing hours worked manually. Workforce Infotech ensures that a seamless integration between our systems and our client’s systems is achieved.
Training Force
The Group’s Training Force Division, is accredited by the Services SETA (Sector Education Training Authority) and offers a range of courses that are aligned with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). All courses offered are outcomes-based soft and formal skills training interventions. In addition to this, Training Force also offers tailored induction programmes and job-specific training to suit client requirements.
By nature of the Group’s staff outsourcing business, training of contract workers plays an important role in our business as it enables the Group to develop a large database of highly skilled workers who can be provided to clients in any given sector of commerce and industry. At the same time, this training enhances the employability of individuals, particularly those from historically disadvantaged communities.
Babereki Employee Support Services
Babereki, a registered member of the NCR (National Credit Regulatory Authority), has been established to provide a range of lifestyle products to employees and associates of The Workforce Group. Current product portfolio includes mobile handsets, airtime and financial products structured as micro-loans.
Workforce Software
This division designs, develops and customises software solutions that automate traditional manual human resource administration processes. While this software is developed to suit our business, it can be acquired by our clients and customised to suit specific trading requirements. Workforce Software’s product suite includes the following:
HR-ZONE an online HR management system that streamlines employee administrative functions. RECRIUT-ZONE is an online recruitment system CONTRACTOR ZONE is a contract-specific web-based application that makes searching for an assignee, with respect to qualifications or specific skills needed for a contract, faster and more accurate. PAY-MATIC is a flexible and reliable payroll system that can cater for all wage and salary requirements. Paymatic is also available in a windows-based version. TIME-ZONE Employee time control and management is best handled by linking our "Time-Zone" software to either standard clocking and biometrics terminals
